Am the Founder and Chairperson of The Resilient40 (R40), an African climate action network spread across 30+ African countries working towards building climate resilient communities across Africa. Am the youth cluster lead under the non state actors steering committee, fronting a pro African agenda within key climate, governance, development and conservation spaces across Africa and globally.

Dalitso Mvula, Chair – Ethics and Arbitration

Zambia

She is a former minister of education and academic affairs of the University of Zambia student union. She is  graduate from the University of Zambia who pursued environmental education and management. She is a young environmental and climate change Activist who is highly passionate promoting environmental sustainability. Ms Mvula is also a governance activist who believes in promoting gender equality in the governance space. She is also an alumni of YALI. She is currently the youth programs manager at Center for Environment Justice. She is also an environmental youth defender serving as tertiary lead under a social movement called girls gone political.

 

Atim Edith Labeja                                                   

Atim Edith Labeja is a passionate human rights advocate, lawyer, poet and writer driven by a deep commitment to social change and justice . At 25, she has already made remarkable strides in multiple fields, dedicating her work to the empowerment of marginalized communities and addressing some of the most pressing global issues today.

As the founder and CEO of Imara Binti Initiative, Atim leads an organization focused on improving access to Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights(SRHR) education tackling issues such as teenage pregnancy, menstrual hygiene, and child marriages. Through this initiative, she strives to equip young women and girls with the knowledge they need to make informed decisions about their health and future.

Beyond her work in reproductive rights, Atim is a passionate climate justice activist. She is currently working on a project with refugees, addressing the intersection of climate change and displacement.

Through this work, she aims to advocate for those most affected by the environmental crisis, highlighting the disproportionate impact on vulnerable communities .

In addition to her activism, Atim is a gifted poet and  writer, using the power of the words to inspire change and raise awareness . Her writing often explores themes of human dignity, resilience and the fight for justice .

As a lawyer, Atim is deeply committed to ensuring that human rights are upheld and defended at every level of society. She firmly believes in the importance of legal frameworks to protect the rights of individuals and is dedicated to using her legal expertise to challenge injustice and advocate for systemic change .

Driven by unwavering passion for humanity, she continues to break the barriers and advocate for a more just, equitable and sustainable work .


Catherine Imalingat, Chair – Treasurer, Finance and Admin Committee
Uganda

She is an Educationist and Social Expert with more than ten years of experience in the finance, education, Gender, and Climate Change sectors. She is currently the Executive Director of See Hear and Feel (SHF), with vast experience in Finance and administration within many roles played across East Africa.

Yara Taha, Member, CEB
Egypt

She is a passionate Youth climate leader with an amazing leadership history within climate change spaces across the MENA region, advocating for gender inclusivity and climate justice. She is a student at the University of Cairo, in Egypt. She brings to the board vast youth leadership, coordination and mobilization experience.



Edith Ayikoru, Chair – Audit and Advisory Council Committee
Uganda

She is an experienced tree forestry manager with wide experience in Finance and management, coordinating ecosystem restoration projects within Uganda. With her different roles in afforestation, she brings to the board her vast knowledge and experience coordinating different leadership advisory councils.



Tricia Joyce Kabugo, Chair – Risks, Recruitment and Credentials Committee
Uganda

She has been involved in advocacy and policy influencing for several years and plays a leading role in East African civil society. With an extensive experience within administrative roles, she is very passionate about inclusivity within policy making processes.

Rita Ogwang Aceng, Secretary to CEB
Uganda

A practicing fully fledged commercial lawyer, very passionate about climate change and youth participation within key decision making processes. She runs a law firm and always creating platforms for the needed voices to be tabled within policy development. She has worked and volunteered in numerous Governance and human rights interventions that have opened democratic spaces and respect for human rights.
