Elevating the role and voices of young people is a top priority for the Africa Climate Mobility Initiative (ACMI). A joint undertaking of the African Union Commission, the United Nations, and the World Bank, the ACMI supports the African continent in addressing climate-forced displacement and migration while harnessing climate mobility to advance its development agenda and further its economic & political integration.

The Resilient40 is a network of young Africans who
are committed to building climate resilience in Africa,
finding solutions to the complex problems we face.

Young people today comprise of over 40 percent of the global population, and future generations will be most impacted by the challenges we face today – especially the triple planetary crisis of nature, pollution and climate. Young people from the Low and Middle Income Countries (LMICs) are already in the frontlines and bearing impacts of the environmental degradation.

This Manifesto was developed through a consultative process with youth from a number of African cities in partnership with WWF Uganda, ICLEI – Local Governments for Sustainability: Africa Secretariat, the African Climate Reality Project and Resilient40.
