Resilient40 Officially Launches 2025 Africa Climate Justice Caravans at UNEP Regional Consultations in Nairobi.
Nairobi, Kenya – On July 13, 2025 — Resilient40, a pan-African youth climate justice network, officially launched the 2025 Africa Climate Justice Caravans during the UNEP Regional Consultative Meetings held in Nairobi. These meetings serve as a key preparatory platform feeding into the 20th African Ministerial Conference on the Environment (AMCEN), which also commemorates 40 years of AMCEN’s leadership in shaping Africa’s environmental agenda.

The 2025 Caravans mark a bold, continent-wide mobilization for climate justice, amplifying African voices in the lead-up to the Africa Climate Summit and COP30 in Brazil. Through grassroots engagement, policy dialogue, and intergenerational collaboration, the caravans aim to spotlight the lived realities of African communities on the frontlines of the climate crisis while advocating for just, inclusive, and sustainable solutions.
The launch in Nairobi underscores Resilient40’s commitment to empowering African youth and communities, ensuring their perspectives and innovations shape global climate policy. The caravans will journey across multiple regions of the continent, culminating in a unified African youth declaration to be presented at COP30.
