Resilient40 is a by-youth, for-youth, Pan-African non-profit organization with an established European arm that together educates, equips and establishes youth as leaders on system-wide solutions for the nature and climate crises that are rooted in traditional and scientific knowledge and grounded in intergenerational justice. We do this through Policy, knowledge sharing, Dialogue, local actions and storytelling programmes.

Our mission is to address the challenges of resources, capacity, knowledge and access that prevent youth from leading on solutions in the climate-nature nexus. Through knowledge-sharing, capacity-building and storytelling endeavours, we strive to educate, equip and establish youth as the climate-nature leaders we know we already are, on a local, regional and international level.

At Resilient40, we believe the best way to achieve our mission of addressing the barriers facing youth in leading on climate-nature action, is by endeavoring to reach our three long-term goals, which are to:

1. EDUCATE youth worldwide about the root problems & interconnected solutions to our climate & nature crises by facilitating the sharing of both traditional & scientific knowledge, and convening collaborations across our network to bridge the nature and climate movements.
2. EQUIP youth to become the equal & necessary changemakers, experts and decision-makers, that we know we are, both locally within our communities as well as on the international stage, by building our capacities as stewards for nature and climate, financing youth work, valuing youth voices and creating meaningful spaces to share our stories.
3. ESTABLISH the role of youth as nature-climate leaders, by mobilizing our communities to advocate and take ambitious action for climate and nature, and to tackle the climate, environmental and societal injustice prevalent within the nature and climate decision-making spaces.

We work at a multi-scalar level with a variety of partners and stakeholders, from grassroots movements and community groups to international NGOs and institutions. Above all, we prioritise working with and for youth. Our work falls within four pillars:

POLICY
We advocate, litigate, lobby and actively participate in key climate and nature decision making processes as the African and global south youth voice bringing to the front voices of youth leaders and organizations at the frontlines of the nature and climate crises.

Knowledge-Sharing
We connect young people with scientists, experts and knowledge-holders to build a strong knowledge-base among young people globally. Our by-youth, for-youth knowledge-sharing creates space for young leaders to exchange information, ideas and hope, supporting a more diversified understanding of the nature-climate nexus.

Capacity-Building
At Resilient40, we aim to grow the capacity of youth to both advocate for climate solutions rooted in nature and justice and to be involved in their planning and implementation locally. Through global youth delegations and on-the-ground programs and support, we help to equip young leaders with the skills and resources they need to make change.

STORYTELLING
We transform your reflections, actions and creativity into influential narratives and impactful projects. Your local climate-nature issues turn into a global web of climate-nature solutions. And your personal accounts turn into inspiring stories on the power of considering and resourcing locally-led and youth-led climate-nature action for socially just systems change.
